My husband leaving for Japan for 2 years.
My husband will be leaving for Japan for 2 years, and I will be moving back to Texas in February. How does one deal with a spouse being gone for that long? I can only imagine the insecurities that we will have, and the counseling that we will need when he returns due to not being a part of our lives for 2 years. Not to mention the children, and how they will cope with a dramatic change in their lives. Any advice anyone?

Oh my goodness! I have no idea how you will deal with this! If I were you, I would definately look into counseling before he leaves! This might make both of you feel a little better. I would also get a skype account. I think you might have to pay for it, but it will be worth it because you will be able to see and hear your husband and the kids will get a kick out of it, too. I guess you know that this will be really hard, but try not to be negative! Try to keep in mind that you two love eachother and you WILL work through this! I wish you the best!
ReplyDeleteNaomi - what a huge change for all of you! The Skype account is a great idea - and it's free. My friend's son and his family live in Japan, and they talk regularly via Skype. Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteYes we are deciding to get a skype account to keep in contact as much as possible. The only thing is that he will be on a ship and there is hardly ever any internet connection for safety reasons. We are seeking counseling so I am hoping that will work. Thank you for your response and the ideas.
